Rowing Blazers is an exciting fusion of pioneering social engagement and a style that, with a twinkle in its eye, is inspired by and sometimes playfully drifts with classic East Coast preppy style.
When Rowing Blazers founder Jack Carlson competed as a rower in the Henley Royal Regatta, he designed the team's blazers to mimic the colourful blazers that classic England rowing teams wore. Once they were on-site at Henley, the team's blazers, despite design-wise turns, still proved to be the most toned-down and colour-wise discreet in the context. An experience that triggered Carlson to write the first edition of the book "Rowing Blazers", which laid the foundation for the brand, along with a past as national team captain for US Rowing.
Rowing Blazers play with traditional style, where colours, styles and small details set a light tone in the garments. Symbols such as the embroidered Dodo bird, as well as logos "Warm & Wonderful's" black sheep or "Boast's" Japanese maple leaf set the for the brand's intellectual and intelligent play with words and meanings. All expressed in garments and accessories at the absolute highest premium level.
Garments manufactured under the Rowing Blazers brand are made of the best materials, design and manufacturing quality. They are created in series that in the context of clothes and style are low, by companies that are specialists in their respective fields. Large parts of the production takes place in the USA and Portugal, where great importance is placed on fair working conditions, and wage levels and strict demands are placed on manufacturers.
Rowing Blazer's founder Jack Carlson has been a passionate vegetarian all his life and stands for high ethical values which directly shaped the brand's actions and ambitions. The use of fur, angora, shearling, horsehair, down, feather and exotic types of leather is avoided. They also do their utmost to minimise the use of materials that risk contaminating lakes and seas. With its high quality, Rowing Blazers has also won the trust to manufacture clothes for several prestigious clubs and associations.
